This is the listing picture of our house from 2018. You can see how much things have grown in 3 years.

Some guys caught a good size bass from Lake Saundra yesterday afternoon.
Sweat from our walk at 8:30 in the morning! 82 degrees. 83% humidity. 2 mph wind speed. Sunny.
Toby is zonkered from his training this morning. He was much improved, even one of the other participants noticed. He sat 3/4 of the time. He never barked or whined. He jumped on John several times and tried to sniff Gracie, the hound who was very vocal today. Toby was fidgety at times, but we brought most of his morning kibble with us to feed to him as the session was going on, one or two bits at a time, as recommended by the trainer. He sat between my legs looking at the room several times for 30 seconds or so.
He started learning “leave it,” “drop it,” and “take it.”
We learned that our dog trainer also has a dog trainer, explaining that she can’t always see what’s she’s doing wrong and her trainer can help. I found that to be refreshing. Our trainer is full of tips each week. We leave overwhelmed with information that we slowly process and apply during the week.
The only drama happened out in the parking lot while we were loading him in the rear hatch where his crate is. We thought we had him secure and removed the leash, but he bolted out into the parking lot with full-on zoomies, going round and round over curbs, between parked cars, and weaving through cars in motion. It was a harrowing scene coming directly after dog training. All that concentration and learning—he just needed to burn some wildness. Quick-thinking John poured all of his treats on the ground as Toby zoomed by, slowing him down long enough for John to grab the handle on the harness.
We ordered a dog bed several weeks ago. It arrived today, but without the foam insert, so basically it’s just a cover with a bolster around the edge. *sigh* We’ve contacted customer service.
John worked on this shrub some more. Then I remembered we have an electric sawzall that would cut this shrub down to size in minutes. Oops 🙊
I read up on how and when to trim a bird of paradise plant. Ours is too big and needs to be thinned.
We ventured out and tried Delco’s Steaks and Hogies. John got a $6 burger and I got a $7.25 steak and cheese. John said the burger was like 5 Guy’s. The steak and cheese was really good. They have two locations: outside Philly and Dunedin. They claim they fly in the bread daily from Philly. There were many out of state tags at the place.
As I write this, Toby is relaxing with me on the sofa.

I attended the Flow Tennis tournament in WS with a group from Ardmore that I play tennis with. It was hot hot but great tennis.
ReplyDeleteToby’s stories keep us entertained. Yea John for getting the front bush down. Look forward to your next blog. You have lots going on.
