We took Toby on a sunrise walk on the causeway this morning. It was 73 degrees and beautiful. We walked 2.5 miles between the two bridges.
We came home and fixed eggs, grits, and toast.
John moved the Blue My Mind” plant to a spot between our chairs. We got this dwarf firecracker plant at Ace. I added some top soil to even up the bed. I also reduced the height of the sprinklers to fit the size of these plants.
We got some mulch, but John wanted to wait and see how he liked these new plants before committing to the mulch.
Here’s a close up of the firecracker.
Here’s where we moved the Blue My Mind plant to. That tumbleweed root ball to the left is going bye bye.
Toby got another double brain game for his dinner.
And he’s off!
This time, he discarded the cereal box and went for the treat game. He was much more patient and methodical. He almost made it through without ripping off the lids. He’s supposed to flip them open with his nose, but he gets frustrated and just bites down and removes the lid. He opened 6 out of 8 properly. (Life is much more difficult without an opposable thumb.)
He founds kibble inside the cereal box and inside of that, he found a paper towel roll with treats inside.
Toby’s been a good dog today. He got walking exercise, training, fetching, brain games, and naps. Now he’s chilling out on the sofa with me.
For dinner, we stayed in and cooked. We had pan seared tuna steaks, steamed cauliflower, and rice with roasted almonds.
I went to the outdoor gym to exercise. I usually take the weekend off, but the rain earlier this week messed up my schedule. There was a running event on the trail with the finish line at Weaver Park, so it was fun to watch the runners make their final push as their supporters cheered them on.
Today’s bike route to Weaver Park, meandering through Highlander and Hammock Parks
Miles walked: 6
Miles biked: 6.55

What an exciting and productive day. I am very impressed that you lowered the sprinklers. Good move. I love what was planted and moved today. John is so right to be sure of plant placement before mulching.
