Sunday

After our dinner, we hopped on our bikes and rode down to the Dunedin Marina to watch the sunset.

We were lucky enough to see both the sunrise and sunset in the same day.

We passed by the Victoria Condos. Angelo says to tell Rosemary and Ron hello.

John met with a friend for brunch downtown, so I rode with him on my bike to Home Plate and then went by myself to Honeymoon Island. The line to get into the park went almost to the drawbridge. The bike entrance had zero people in line.

The new beach sand was being fully utilized.

The water was clear. Reports say the Red Tide bacteria is still very low at Honeymoon and Caledesi Islands.

We took Toby on a sunrise walk on the causeway.

John took this picture of me and Toby when we first got on the causeway trail.

The rising sun illuminated clouds in the opposite direction.

Before lunch we took a neighborhood walk just to look at plants. This yard near the end of Sturbridge has always been one of our favs. Notice the bromeliads growing out of the sawed-off tree. That wall of palms is also impressive.

So much variety! I would not enjoy the maintenance.

After lunch, we did some yard work. We spread mulch, repaired another sprinkler (without having to buy new parts), cleaned some filters, and realigned some sprinklers so that they work more efficiently.

The mulch project is an ongoing one—two or three bags at a time.. John wants two large natural stones to go in front of our chairs and maybe two more “Blue me Down” plants to go beside each chair.

We started with the new mulch in front of the wall to cover up the dirt from the armadillo hole. When it rained, the dirt splashed against the wall. We’ll fill in with new mulch to the front, in time.

Today’s bike routes downtown, Honeymoon Island, and the Marina

Miles walked: 8.7
Miles biked: 23.54

  1. What a productive day. Everything is coming together. Good job.

  2. Mulch is the best. My neighbor delivered a trailer full last year but I suspect I may need to be buying 2-3 bags at a time to bolster my hill project this fall.
