Thursday

Today, I watched the sun come up over the backyard fence—not quite as dramatic as the causeway.

We made it to the causeway later around 9:00 after Toby’s morning walk. We walked for an hour and a half in a light sprinkle. It was nice and quiet. There weren’t many cars or people, just the diehard regulars.

This was the only patch of blue sky. The high temperature today was 84 degrees. We got over a half inch of rain.

After lunch, the rainstorms were more intense so we took a long nap. After we woke up, we were good for nothing. We must have been tired. No gym or bike riding today.

We got Toby some new toys on the way to pickup our Chinese takeout order. This one is a log stuffed with woodland creatures.

This one is a coffee mug stuffed with donuts glazed with icing and sprinkles.

Both toys count as brain games, since the object is for Toby to remove the contents and then do it again after we stuff them back in. In other words, we can’t toss him the toy and forget about it. It’s more interactive, like the unicorn rainbow house featured in previous blogs.

On our last walk, Toby got dirty playing with his pit bull friend. We’ve learned that the shower and handheld shower head is the easiest way to clean him now that he’s more grown up and less afraid of water.

He had one last brain teaser after his last walk. The rain today made the yard off limits, so we had to lean into walks, naps, and brain games.

Here’s a freckle butt picture, not suitable for work.

Miles walked: 9.5
Miles biked: 0

  1. Toby’s last photo is a hoot. Our morning walk was pleasant. I worked in clothes today and got a hair cut. Hair dresser in transition. Our hair person is venturing out on her own in Haw River. We cased out the new location and decided to search in Mebane. Today I went to a place next to Muffins Ice Cream. 6 minutes from the house.
