Monday

After we walked Toby this morning, we put on our flip flops, t-shirts, and shorts and headed to Walgreens so I could get my Pfizer booster, or as the pharmacist pointed out, my third Pfizer dose, since it's the same as the first two. I did not seem to have any reaction to the third shot. The first two made me tired.

John will get his third Moderna shot soon, and it will be a half dose, per the CDC.

Then we headed to Petsmart to get Toby a replacement harness. For some reason, he chewed through his while he was in the crate in the back of the car going to get takeout food last night. He's worn it for hours, but on this 10-minute trip, he decided to chew through it. It wasn't cheap, but luckily we had a coupon from his intermediate training booklet. This harness is the design recommended by his trainer a few weeks ago.

We brought along our socks and shoes and went straight to the causeway to walk.

It was 64 degrees with an 8 mph breeze, which is pretty cold. We had our wind breakers, but still cut the walk short, partly because of cold and partly because of hunger.

A man and woman rode their bikes to fish together on the wall under the tidal bridge.

There were lots of white caps on the north side of the causeway.

We walked Toby again when we got home and admired our neighbors’ huge hibiscus. It warmed up to 72 degrees and the skies were clear. Still, we wore long sleeves. There were steady breezes all day.

Toby did great with his puzzles tonight for dinner: easy to most difficult without ripping off any lids on the intermediate puzzle. Instead, he used his nose to open and close the boxes and to move them back and forth. On the difficult puzzle, he’s learned to use his paws for most of the movement.

He did it all in record time!

On our last walk of the day, we said good night to Lake Saundra with the moon perched far above.

The sun did the same to us.

Miles walked: 10.7
Miles biked: 0

  1. “Moon perched far above” and “the sun did the same for us”…..I’m telling you ….. sounds like another book chapter. Sounds like ya’ll had a good day except for chewed collar. I had a very nice day too. Dad went to dermatology. I did a load of laundry, ironed, watered/fertilized my few pansies, planted 6 pansies I have needed to plant forever, read paper work from Dr Cook’s ofc. A nice quiet day. Temperatures early morning is predicted 27degrees. Therefore off to the Arts Ctr to walk as soon as I finish my toning class.
