Thursday

Today was cloudy all day, but the temperatures were pleasant: 66 was the low and 75 was the high. We made it to the causeway to walk around 9:30 after we dropped Toby off at daycare. We considered kayaking to Caladesi but the wind and cool temps dissuaded us.  

To see something beautiful, we had to focus on the ground today.

Toby played with an English Bulldog in daycare today, according to the pickup report. We asked if he had a nap, since we picked him up in the middle of their two-hour nap time. She chuckled and said, no, he had not napped. We weren’t surprised. We were surprised that they even try to get a room full of dogs to take a two hour nap. I’d have to see it to believe it. Regardless, we got a glowing report of his play-making skills.

In his absence, we walked, ate lunch at home, and cleaned house. It’s not a glamorous thing to do while your dog’s in daycare, but it sure is easier.

He must have played hard because he’s hardly moved all afternoon.

We did take him to the vet for a vaccine booster shot he got at his annual physical a few weeks ago. Thank goodness for calendar reminders. We got the notice 10 minutes before his appointment and scrambled to get there. Both he and John were napping.

We were making his next daycare appointments, and I told John that Toby needs his own calendar. He has more appointments than we do.

We ordered Thai basil chicken from our favorite Chinese takeout restaurant for dinner. My research indicates that it’s a very healthy dish with anti-inflammatory properties, low in calories and saturated fat. The Thai basil makes it anti-fungal, anti-virus, anti-bacterial, and anti-cancer. It is spicy with a flavor of anise or licorice. We loved it and will have it again.

Our plants in this bed are doing really well. I took this picture on the way outside for our last, short walk. Toby was moving slowly.
