We had an overcast day in the 50s. The low tonight will be in the mid 40s, about as cold as it gets around here.
But after a chilly morning walk in the neighborhood, we eventually made it to the causeway to walk.
We bundled up so it wasn’t too bad. The wind was moderate, but not cutting.
We braved on.
Not much color in our environs today. It was a good day for John’s homemade vegetable soup.
We’re watching “Versailles” on Netflix about young King Louis XIV of France. The Sun King, or Louis the Great, reigned at the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th century. It’s about how the longest reigning monarch of Europe consolidated his power and launched France into the modern world in the fields of fashion, wine, art, trade, and science. Enhancing his family’s “hunting lodge” at Versailles signaled his intention to break with Paris and the old ways of the past.
