Thursday

We rode our bikes downtown to check out some condos. We passed the new Dunedin City Hall under construction. It’s going to be beautiful.

When we stayed on Wood street, we used to pass a plain municipal building on this corner. They tore it down to make way for the new building.

This is what it will look like when completed. I love the wavy roof.

We toured Douglas Arms condominiums on our bikes.

They are basic condos from the 60s, with exterior walkways. There is an elevator and a laundry room on each floor, according to owners that we talked to.

The unit on top was listed for sale this afternoon, and we arrived a couple hours later (The entrance is on the other side, off the exterior balcony.). Two women sitting outside asked if we needed help. We told them we were looking at condos for my family. She mentioned the one that sold in one day this week. They couldn’t believe it sold for that much. She said this one will sell by the end of the day. As of 7:00 p.m., it’s still available.

This is the view beside the condo. The one for sale is on the right, top. This large city block is filled with multiple condos with different looks and built at different times. The ladies said that it’s a 10 minute walk downtown. Mease Life is across the street, and Mease Hospital is across the street from that.

She pointed out this foot path that takes you to the shopping plaza where Bealls, Julian’s Little Italy, Con Sabor, H&R Block, and Save A Lot grocery store are. You can see Bealls through the trees.

I think there are lots of possibilities within this block. We liked the Patrician Oaks units the best. They were three story and newer with screened in porches. However a renovated unit in Douglas Arms would be nice, too.

The location is very nice. It’s a 55+ community with lots of snowbirds. It was very quiet. I bet it’s nearly deserted in the summer. Any of these condos would be great for not having to depend on a car. St. Andrews condos near us and Pinehurst condos would require a car.

John, on the right, is wearing a hoodie. Biker on the left is shirtless and not the only one. It was 76 degrees in the afternoon.

By lunch time, the temperatures were above 70 degrees.

Notice the painter at the top of the tower and one dangling below. Holy Moly.

Aren’t dogs great? They know how to relax.

We made it to Publix after several days. We got some cara cara oranges, regular and satsuma tangerines, and peaches. I learned that tangerines were first cultivated and grown in the U. S. in Palatka, Florida, the city I was born in.

After lunch Toby walk.

Soaking up some warmth out front. It was warmer outside than it was inside.

Scenes from our causeway walk this morning.

Mid 60s on our 9:30 walk

John took this picture of the sound and the Gulf of Mexico beyond. Caladesi is to the left and Honeymoon Island is to the right.

I saw this possum in our back yard. He was huge.

He lives behind these bushes. And that’s why I don’t do yard work.

Today’s bike route to look at condominiums downtown. The condos were 3.25 miles from our house via the Pinellas Trail.

Miles walked: 12.1
Miles biked: 9.9
