If North Carolina is looking for its weather, it can come down here and get it and take it back. The high temperature today was 60 degrees, not cold enough to qualify for a winter day, but it sure looked like it and felt like it.
The skies were solid gray and gloomy with occasional misting. Neither of us can recall this many dreary days last winter.
We stayed in the neighborhood except for fetching egg foo yung for dinner—comfort food.
I was somewhat productive. I found our needle and thread and sowed up Toby’s bed. He found a loose thread a few weeks ago and got busy removing it. Then he found the stuffing and . . . he was off to the races. Anyway, I saved it from the landfill—for a while anyway.
We did some Toby training and watched “Versailles” on Netflix and “Teachers” on Amazon Prime. “Teachers” reminds me of Durham Tech. The teachers are asked to do more and more with less. They have to sign out ink pens, one at a time, from a locked cupboard. They aren’t allowed more paper because they’ve used too much! The administrators only care about having a warm body in the classroom and no complaints from parents. It’s a funny show though because the teachers bond over the shared absurdity.
Tomorrow will be a big day: daycare, training, and our first HOA meeting in the evening. Last year was too COVID, so we didn’t attend. The guest speaker will be the city manager who will be talking about future plans of the city.
