We saw this snake bird as we crossed the tidal bridge on our morning causeway walk. It was sunny and 75 degrees. The water was so clear you could see the rocks on the bottom.
In this picture, the pelican and we were looking in the water for the diving snake bird who went all the way to the bottom.
Moments later, he popped to the surface.
You can see the Gulf of Mexico beyond Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands.
This is why, as we head into March, I call March my favorite month in Dunedin. The weather is perfect.
After lunch, the three of us headed downtown for a walk and puppy socialization.
The spring growth is visible in these trees in the foreground. We started our walk at Weaver Park. The sound is off to the left.
As we passed The Scone Age coffee shop on the Pinellas Trail across from Eli’s BBQ, two women called out to us: “We see you walking all over Fairway Estates.” Then two women at the next table, not to be outdone, turned around and said: “Well, I see you walking by Ashford Court in Waybridge Woods.” That’s the second day in a row, people have done this. Weird.
We made a pass by the Chamber of Commerce.
Toby did great walking around downtown. We tried to keep him on the shady side of the street.
He sat, got into a down, settled, and walked by lots of people and dogs without incident.
John stopped at Seeds to explore while Toby and I sat on a bench outside Hot Dogs on Main.
We went to almost where Main intersects with Skinner and turned south to see the progress on the new City Hall. I’m so glad they chose this design.
The other two designs were so generic—they could have been anywhere, but this design captures the city’s vibes.

On the way back to Weaver Park via the Pinellas Trail, Toby made a B-line for Salty Paws, the doggie ice cream store. The owner had some leftover ice cream from a previous customer who couldn’t eat it all, so she offered it to Toby for free.
He loved it so much we had a hard time luring him away and back to the trail.
Before dinner, we dropped by to pick up some dog food at our neighborhood pet store. Then we dropped by Juan’s Mexican Restaurant for takeout burritos.
Last sunset walk.
Sunset with more camera light.
Toby waiting patiently for a walk while we put our shoes on. No sock parade!
Toby’s already gone to sleep for the night, as we try to wrap up “Soundtrack” on Netflix.
