Wednesday

Our causeway walk this morning was perfect: 79 degrees with a light breeze.

Not sure what this sign is about. It’s outside the Honeymoon Island State Park entrance. The kayak is heading towards an alligator, so I’m not sure what sort of retirement she has in mind.

The State is doing some roadway construction in front of the entrance booths.

My guess is they are expanding the area for cars waiting to get in to the park. During peak season, the cars can line up all the way back to the mainland, causing traffic jams.

The causeway is about 2 miles long.

We stopped at Publix on the way home. Our cashier asked us how the trail was today. She said, “I see y’all walking every day.” The lady waiting in line at the next register chimed in: “Me, too. Y’all walk by my condo every day.” In the parking lot, she told us she was going to say hello from her balcony next time she sees us. It’s a small world, and people notice when you show up and when you don’t.

After lunch, I rode my bike to Weaver Park to exercise. The high temperature today was 81 degrees. This is the bridge over Cedar Creek that flows out of Hammock Park to St. Joseph Sound.

I had the outdoor gym to myself. After I finished, I headed south on the Pinellas Trail to Alt. 19 in Clearwater for some aerobic exercise.

John made spaghetti for dinner.

We’re settling in to watch some more episodes of “Soundtrack” on Netflix, a love story told in flashback with mashup musical interludes.

Today’s bike route to Weaver Park and the Pinellas Trail to Alt. 19

Miles walked: 14
Miles biked: 11.61
