Last night's party was surreal. The main party space was a recently screened in outdoor space, complete with a new roof, disco ball, video, audio, light show, and computer system.
The highlight of the evening had to be the performance of the band. There were saxophones, guitars, and keyboards. The funniest part was that their performance was pretend. The mics were fake, and no one actually played any instruments. There was some singing going on, but mostly lip-syncing. Before they performed, one of the group members was trying to describe it to me. He said they sometimes wore glittery costumes, lip-synced, etc. I replied, "Oh, so it's kind of like a drag show." He paused for a moment and then burst out laughing. He said, "No, we don't wear wigs, only hats."
The host has a massive collection of concert footage that he has added the lyrics to so the band can lip sync or sing to. The music included the Foo Fighters, Foreigner, and groups like that.
It was very loud and rockin'.
John was the youngest guest in attendance. The entire evening felt like a step back in time to a frat party. Many of the guests had matching t-shirts with the host's name and his "bar" on it. We had a good time and met some new people. Clearly, we've never been to a party like that.
Rockin' party attire. On the walk home, we passed another garage party and they tried to corral us to join them. Our ears were still ringing, but I think that's what they were shouting. We were exhausted and continued the walk home to rescue Toby.
We popped up at 5:15 and immediately took Toby on a walk. We had coffee and read a little bit before we got back on our usual schedule of walking Toby on a long walk and heading to the causeway to walk ourselves. We saw a 6-person kayak from the tidal bridge.
The temperature was in the mid-60s when we walked. The high was forecasted to be 73 degrees.
I stepped on a big rock so that in the selfie of me and John in the previous picture we were both in the frame.
Mostly sunny skies.
I repaired a sprinkler head this afternoon. John was not amused when I sat down and propped up my feet. What dirt? ðŸ¤
