Thursday

It was a beautiful 73 degrees on our after-lunch walk before picking up Toby from daycare.

K9 Adventures has now become Dogtopia. We have 7 more visits until our package of visits runs out. Then we will either switch to Precious Pets or stay at Dogtopia. I think we will give Precious Pets a chance since it’s not a chain and is locally owned. Their half day prices are $2 less than the new prices at Dogtopia and $3 more than the old price at K9.

Additionally, a half day at PP is 5 hours, but only 4 hours at K9/Dogtopia. Dogtopia has cameras; PP is low tech, but it’s closer and we won’t have to get on Hwy 19.

We also learned today that Dogtopia puts dogs in crates for nap time, whereas K9 encouraged nap time in the open rooms but didn’t enforce it. Of course, Toby played through it almost all the time. Now, with Dogtopia, we’ll be paying for an hour of him being crated. He’ll only have three hours to play, or less if we’re running late. We can crate him at home for free!

When we picked Toby up today, they told us he helped a new dog make it through her first day. She was a shy catahoula/boxer mix. They said Toby played well with her. They also said that they had never seen him be aggressive with any dog, including his classmate from Petsmart (the one he growled at during class).

It was 72 degrees on our morning causeway walk, with very few clouds.

We put Toby in his crate to nap and rode our bikes downtown to see the St. Patrick’s Day festival. The Stirling Wine Store above was busy. A lady at Dogtopia had lunch there today. I mentioned that my family might be staying there in May (in the condos above the store). She said her kids had recently stayed there and liked it.

Flanagan’s Irish Pub, next door to the Stirling Wine Store, was busy, of course.

Lots of bicycles

Toby and I took a warm shower. He likes the warm water. He’s done for the night. John and I are getting ready to watch “Rita” on Netflix.
