Thursday

So, we went to Los Amigos for takeout Mexican. It’s located across from the bowling alley. John usually orders and he refused, saying it’s too complicated. I rolled my eyes and marched right up to the pickup window and ordered. She said that I could have a seat at a table and my order would be ready in 15 minutes. The waitress brought out our bag and I got in the car and began bragging about how easy it was. How could that have been complicated, I asked?

He said, “Did you pay?” Um, I think so, I answered, pulling out my phone to check for recent purchases.

Oh, no. I didn’t pay! I thought I paid when I ordered. John says, “You have to go into the tienda to pay. It’s on the right, by the door.” How crazy is that, I asked.

We were half way home when John turned around. I walked in and saw a man standing at the register, so I handed him my check. He said he didn’t work there. I said, I’m sorry. I’m confused. I just walked out without paying. He said he was confused too, but about something else. We could have been in an absurdist play.

Anyway, I paid, we left, the meal was really good.

I told John I owed him an apology. It really was confusing to order and pay.

We took Toby down to Weaver Park for some long-leash training. It was a good place to practice since there were lots of distractions—lots of things to see and especially smell.

After training, we walked downtown for some exercise and people exposure.

As soon as we got near Salty Paws, he dug in, hoping for a visit to the doggie ice cream store. He definitely remembered his recent trip. We resisted.

We’ve enjoyed beautiful skies today.

Today’s been gorgeous. This morning’s causeway walk was mostly sunny and in the mid to upper 60s.

These birds are enjoying a leisurely time on a sandbar at low tide.
