After we walked Toby in the neighborhood this morning, we put him in the crate and hopped in our golf cart to ride down to Stirling Park, which borders Palm Boulevard, Bayshore Drive, and the Pinellas Trail. We parked our cart there and walked north on the Trail to get to the Dunedin Causeway Trail. We walked to the entrance of Honeymoon Island State Park.
Round trip was 8 miles, about 2-3 miles longer than when we start at the bridge.
It was overcast today, not much blue sky showing, but the temperature was nice, about 75 degrees on the walk.
After lunch, we took Toby in the cart to Stirling Park and walked South on the Pinellas Trail to Hammock Park and back. We avoided Highlander Park because of the Highland Games.
I made it to Weaver Park after our Toby walk to exercise. John dropped me off while he went to run an errand. It was 82 degrees. I was there about 10 minutes when a heavy thunderstorm moved in unexpectedly. The forecast called for rain beginning at 5:30. I sought cover under the picnic shelter until John was able to pick me up. There was a self-defense class going on while I was there, so I got some free tips. Five soaking wet bicyclists also joined us for shelter. They were soaking wet and cold and cursing the weather forecaster. They were celebrating a birthday and having fun, in spite of the rain.
Lots of rain!
On of our neighbors shared their dinner with us: eggplant, mushroom, carrots, celery, tomatoes. Plantain chips, for appetizers.
Second day with the cart and Toby is getting in on his own (with treat lures).
It’s pouring rain, so we’re just sitting in the garage looking out.
