Sunday

The great white egret Easter bunny

After our morning Toby walk, we hopped on our bikes and headed to Honeymoon Island for a barefoot beach walk. We rode past the line of cars waiting to get in.

It was 75 degrees when we left home after 9:00 and 81 when we got home for lunch. The winds were light, about 5 mph. Perfect weather.

We walked away from the crowds towards the northern tip of the island.

On tippy toes here

We walked from North Beach to the blue dot, not very far, maybe a mile or so round trip.

After lunch, I rode my bike to the outdoor gym in Weaver Park. The cover model from this quarter's Dunedin Parks and Recreation Magazine was there, too.  He laughed when I said I recognized him as that. He said he wished they had chosen a picture with his dog in it. I wondered later if that meant his dog had died. The man always has his dog with him, but not today.

Later in the afternoon, we took Toby to Highlander Park and the community center in the golf cart to walk. The high temperature today was 83 degrees and the humidity was low—a beautiful day. We found plenty of shade. Thankfully, yesterday’s fitness event was over and we could walk wherever we wanted.

We had some time before dinner so we headed downtown.

We walked from the Dunedin Smokehouse to the shops on Douglass and back to the train station. There was a guy singing and playing his guitar. Toby got some exercise and practice walking downtown and waiting for traffic signals.

The sky this morning on our early walk with Toby was beautiful.

Tired doggie

We got Chinese takeout, so I had time to rake after dinner while John did laundry. We folded and put things away, and all three of us got a shower.

Today's bike routes to Honeymoon Island and Weaver Park

Miles biked: 19.79
