Wednesday

After lunch, John washed the golf cart inside and out. Then we took Toby for a ride downtown. We walked Toby and made our way to the marina.

Toby practiced sitting at stop lights, waiting at stop lights, switching sides when passing pedestrians, and getting in a down for prolonged waits.

We passed by shops with interesting artwork.

We took in the marina mural outside of Olde Bay Cafe.

We read later that Caledisi was doing a controlled burn to manage the vegetation on the island.

How's that for a clean water marina?

We spotted a new pond (for us) on the way back from downtown. This one is on the edge of Highlander Park.

John wanted a picture of Toby behind the wheel of the golf cart. Lake Saundra provided the backdrop.

After Toby's morning walk, we put him in his crate for a nap and rode the golf cart to Stirling Park and did our walk out to Honeymoon Island and back.

Not a bad 10 day forecast.

The temperature on our morning walk was in the low to mid 70s, partly cloudy. The high today was a nice 81 degrees.

For dinner, we drove to Los Amigos (across from the Chatterbox Cafe) to get takeout burritos, considered the most authentic in town.

While we waited on our order we crossed the street and shopped for fresh produce at the Dunedin Fresh Market. The mural turned out really well.

Fresh herbs and specialty cheeses

They have eggplant, never have seen one at Publix, which I think is really weird.

They even had boiled peanuts cooking, for sale.

A fascinating place. We will be back. We got oranges, black grapes, avocados, apples, and a huge container of blueberries for $13.

For a sunset walk, we hopped in the golf cart and headed to Stirling Park. We had the whole place to ourselves. We walked, did some training, and then let Toby off leash to fetch.

That white speck is Toby.

This time, we remembered to bring two balls.

We had his full attention.

We're older and wiser now than we were with Dexter. We know not to wear out Toby's knees with too much fetching. After three or four tosses, his little legs are trembling. So we stop, because he wouldn't.

John took the scenic route home. We rode to Highlander Park and rode by several little league games, some tennis matches, and pickle ball. We noticed that some people prefer to watch the games from their carts. Makes sense.

Lots to see.

We headed home via Ben Hogan and watched the sun sink over the golf course.

John took a shower with Toby while I put this blog together. We will all sleep well tonight.
