John ordered a gay pride garden flag, but we didn’t have the metal pole to fly it, so we planned a golf cart trip with Toby to Ace Hardware.
In our class, we were encouraged to go to Ace, Home Depot, and dog-friendly restaurants to give Toby new experiences around people. He did really well.
A woman and her husband walked up and asked to pet him and wanted to know what breed he was. She said he looked like the RCA dog or the Target dog. Toby let her pet him.
At the checkout, the cashier stopped what she was doing and came out to pet him and give him a treat. She took Toby behind the counter to show him where the treat jug is so that he can come back and get as many as he wants.
The trip using the back roads was fun. We got to see areas in the city we haven’t seen before.
We stopped by the community center on the way home to walk Toby.
We can always find shade under the tree canopy.
I rode my bike to Weaver Park to exercise. The high temperature today was 83. It was nice to finally feel warm.
Toby went to his last daycare at Dogtopia, at least for the time being. They never did get the cameras working so that we could watch him play over the Web. We’re still investigating other possibilities. I really like the downtown option (Posh). We’re still waiting for a return call. I really would like not having to drive the car.
Anyway, after dropping him off, we drove to the causeway and walked, then went by Publix to pick up a few things. The picture above shows the progress at the entrance to Honeymoon Island, with the new lanes and ticket booth.
For dinner, John made crockpot chicken and a baked sweet potato.
After dinner, we took Toby in the golf cart to Stirling Park. We did some training.
John took this shot of a snake bird doing his thing.
Getting ready for the shot . . .
Ready!
Looking poised is a lot of work.
Downtown lights after sunset
I gave myself a much needed haircut!
Mailbox plants are doing well.
