We took Toby to Dogtopia this morning while this cutie went for a drive along the causeway. We ended up walking in the afternoon because thunderstorms moved through just after we dropped him off.
There's Toby on the left with the room's minder surveying events. Toby got to play in the "gym" today, that's the room for big dogs. Toby loves the big dogs.
There's Toby dancing with a large golden, while the minder cleans up someone's mess.
Toby and his friend are oblivious.
Toby loves being part of a pack. I'm so glad that we can provide this fun for him. He spent over 7 hours at daycare, two hours in the crate for nap time. Other than that, he was on his feet the entire time, walking around and playing. We checked on him several times during the day via the webcam. Toby is in the lower right corner.
I took advantage of the morning rain to cut up the cantaloupe and to take care of some business things.
Then we had a Home Run Inn Pizza. It was a BOGO this week. To alleviate our guilt, we fixed a fruit bowl to go with it. The peaches have been awesome the last several weeks.
After lunch, we rode our bikes to the causeway to walk. I wore my new tank top to keep cool and even out my farmer's tan.
It was 89 degrees with a 7 mph breeze.
There were lots of kayakers over on Caladesi.
These jet ski riders were driving up to the sandbar and getting off to swim. We took the picture from the tidal bridge.
Clearwater Beach high-rises are in the distance, as this kayak fisherman claims a temporary island in the Sound.
John got this awesome shirt at Beall's yesterday. It has a fish pattern.
The heat didn't seem to bother me today. John thinks my thyroid medicine makes me sensitive to heat for several hours after I take it. But by 1:00 p.m., I felt fine. There was a strong breeze though, and I had just eaten a huge lunch, so I was motivated to walk.
We cleaned house after our walk, taking advantage of Toby not being home. Before dinner, we picked him up. We could tell he was exhausted. He fell asleep in the car on the way home.
After dinner, we took a go cart ride down to Stirling Park. We didn't want to walk far because Toby was exhausted. John said he sacrificed his head in the picture so that Toby could get all the attention. I should have cropped us both out of this one. We both agreed that Toby is very photogenic. In fact, one of the minders took a group photo of the dogs in the room. When we picked him up, she came out to show us how good Toby looked in the picture.
We rode by the outdoor patio of The Dunedin Golf Club.
This is hole number 9, which runs beside Ben Hogan Drive. Many errant shots make it into the street, so you have to pay attention walking on this road.
We rode by placid Lake Saundra.
Stirling Park was surprisingly shaded with a good breeze. We made it around the outside loop. Toby did a few commands. This morning, before breakfast, he did about 15 commands without treats. He was highly motivated.
We came home and I gave Toby a shower, while John cleaned his harness, leash, and collar.
Miles walked: 7.3
Miles biked: 4.96

I hope you are wearing some type of sunscreen. Be careful. Toby has certainly progressed. He is photogenic. A beautiful dog.
ReplyDeleteI went to Badin Lake today with a group of girlfriends from church. Got home just in time to see Mrs Harris Goes to Paris at our local aperture theatre. It was so good. P
