Thursday

Our neighbors threw a birthday party for me and another neighbor, who's also having a birthday this week. The chef smoked a brisket on the grill to go with the salads and beans. We are lucky to be surrounded by kind and supportive people, who are also fun to be with.

Cake!

We rode our bikes to the causeway to walk this morning. The temperature was in the low 80s and the wind was blowing 10 mph by the time we finished. We hooked up Toby's trailer to John's bike and went grocery shopping on the way home. The trailer allows us to get more goodies, like gallon jugs of milk and orange juice and other heavy things. We don't have to use the car.

It was a breezy day to windsurf.

After lunch, I rode my bike to the edge of Clearwater. The picture above is of Stevenson Creek, looking east.

Stevenson Creek, looking west.

On the way home, I stopped to exercise at Weaver Park.

I saw this aerial view of the gopher turtle painted on the water tower in the Dunedin Weekly Newsletter. This side is completed. The sea turtle painting awaits fall weather on the other side of the tower.

John walked Toby at Lake Saundra while I was at the gym. Then we played fetch in the back yard.

Fetching was followed by a walk at Highlander Park. Then we left Toby loose in the house for two hours or so while we went to the birthday party. He did just fine.

We came home from the birthday party in the rain. A few minutes later, we took Toby for his last walk of the day in a light sprinkle under an enormous rainbow. The temperature was 75 degrees, almost cool.

That's our happy home, under the rainbow.

Miles walked: 8.1
Miles biked: 16.67
