Wednesday

We were both feeling a bit sluggish again this morning, so we walked Toby, took a break, and then walked in the neighborhood. There just wasn't enough breeze or clouds to make it to the causeway or the trail. Even short walks led to being dripping wet with sweat.

We discovered some fantastic plants on our neighborhood walk, though. Right out of the Little Shop of Horrors.

This is our magnolia tree. It's gotten so big!

Later in the day, we took Toby to Highlander Park and then downtown for a go cart ride.

The picture above is Cedar Creek before it gets to Hammock Park. The bridge leads to the shortcut downtown.

We passed this pair on the way downtown.

We parked at the marina for a while and enjoyed the breeze.

Olde Bay Cafe got a new sign.

This place has undergone quite a transformation since we moved here. It used to be a fish market mostly, with just a few tables for dining.

The more the day developed, the more clouds.

Toby was taking in all the sights and smells.

We rode all the way to the end of Victoria Drive.

I didn't know it when I took this picture, but the woman and child in the picture are from our neighborhood. They used to rent the house next door to us, before we lived here. The woman walks everyday on the causeway, so we are used to running into her. It was surprising to see her here this afternoon.

After dinner, the rain finally came, moving from east to west. It has been so hot and dry lately. The grass was curling up.

Last walk of the day after the rain passed through. It was noticeably cooler.

We finished watching Virgin River. What an ending! I think they're going to have to do another season just to deal with all the loose threads and bombshell last scene.
