Friday

Tonight’s fortune cookie: How much deeper would the ocean be without sponges?

That made us both laugh.

Here’s a picture of Toby’s bumps. They don’t seem to bother him, so I think it looks worse than it is. He has very little fur, so every skin blemish is more visible. Only two of them have broken through the skin.

They have spread a lot today, even after taking Benadryl twice. We’ll keep using the medicated shampoo and giving Benadryl.

If he’s not better by Monday, we’ll make an appointment. We can’t remember what made them go away two years ago. I know we just kept eliminating things that he might be allergic to until they went away. The veterinarian was of little help. He prescribed the shampoo. It’s a mystery.

Toby has no pigment in his skin with the exception of one eyelid, a few freckles, and a splatter on his nose. So, we’re  not too surprised that he has skin issues, which is why we keep him out of direct sunlight after 9:00 a. m.

Speaking of bare spots, we have a mole cricket problem in the side yard. Our lawn pest control man came by this morning to treat the area. He drove all the way from New Port Richey and didn’t even charge us. We were very lucky to find him.

It has rained most of the day, beginning around 11:30 a.m. The radar image above shows the short break we had around 3:30 to walk Toby. Earlier, we got caught at the end of our street in a downpour. And our last walk of the day was in a sprinkle. The rain has forced us to take it easy which is a good thing after our yard project.

Soaked!

Durham Tech sent me a fundraising letter today, as a retiree. I wonder how much they get from retired faculty?

The skies were clear earlier today.

We finished watching the Astrological Guide for Broken Hearts. It was far better than we expected from the title.

Tonight we resumed watching Merli, about a gay philosophy student trying to balance school, friends, love, and money. He’s kind of a jerk, but maybe his character will develop. We watched season one some time ago.
