Monday

A kiss for me . . .

And a kiss for John.

And Toby is back in the saddle.

Happy dog!

We enjoyed a mostly shady walk at the community center. We met some neighbors on their bikes, and they stopped and talked. They’re thinking of getting another dog. Their dog died this spring after a long life.

As soon as we got home, a shower moved through, about 20 minutes of heavy rain and then sprinkles for an hour. I need to harvest avocados but I haven’t had time.

We made it back to the causeway to walk after taking last week off for projects, rain, and Toby.

It felt good to be out again, but we both felt out of shape and struggled. The breeze was very light. The woman in this boat had her tunes blaring having a good time on the water.

We parked at Dollar General and walked to the restrooms on the causeway and back.

Toby crashed on top of me this afternoon. His skin continues to improve.

We got chicken pad Thai for our takeout dinner.

I gave myself a haircut after dinner.

We took one last walk around the lake.

We got stopped three times by neighbors. But it was good practice for Toby. No treats. He only jumped up on us once after talking to the first woman, but I had him on a short leash and kept walking. He wanted a treat, but he didn’t get one. For the other two stops he entertained himself and was patient. I gave him some frozen green beans when we got home.

We passed 6 dogs, no treats, no drama. The temperature dropped to the mid 70s after the rain passed through. Every dog in the neighborhood needed to get out.

Last task of the day: chain link fence, posts, gate to the curb for pickup tomorrow. Project done!

Miles walked: 10
Miles biked: 0

  1. So glad that Toby is better and glad the fence project is completed. We had our neighbors down for spaghetti dinner tonight. I am meeting 2 friends at 8:00 to walk.

Maggie and I walked 3.2 miles today. I played tennis this morning.

    Good days.
