Thursday

After walking Toby, we took our bikes downtown to go walking, but along the way we got a weather alert that rain was expected in Dunedin along the Pinellas Trail that we had intended to walk. So we decided to keep biking away from the rain. We headed south and kept going. Eventually, we got to Clearwater and from there we took the Clearwater Causeway into Clearwater beach. The pictures above and below are from the bridge, looking at the beach.

The famous Pier 60 is in the background of this shot of Clearwater Beach.

A beach that anybody could love--clean and organized.

Sugar-white sand

And more hotels/condominiums going up across the street.

We took a short cut through downtown instead of following the official Pinellas Trail spur. The shortcut allows us to take the corkscrew up to the bridge.

We think this sculpture used to be part of a working fountain, but there was no water, just the sculpture and fancy base.

The Clearwater Causeway from the bridge.

Sailboats in the Clearwater harbor.

These guys are getting ready to do a sand sculpture.
