Friday

We had lots of cloud cover on our morning causeway walk with a huge thunderstorm lurking off the island. Fortunately, the storm stayed in the Gulf, and we had a pleasant walk.

There’s a bike for everyone! This one was mounted to two pontoons with a drop down propeller. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Here’s a more conventional kayak.

A kayak and a paddle board.

We rode our bikes and parked at Walgreens.

John got this shot of pelicans flying in formation.

This sailboat has been anchored off the causeway for months.

We enjoyed seeing this cute couple walk ahead of us.

We finished watching “The Girl in the Mirror.” It was extremely complicated with many twists. It’s the kind of movie that you would profit from watching more than once because things would have deeper meaning with the knowledge coming ahead. It was pretty good, but we’re both glad it’s over and will not be watching again.

Toby’s been a good boy today. We walked, played fetch, and cuddled.

Today’s my second anniversary in retirement. Experts say the first two years are easy. It’s the years after that where people sometimes run into difficulty, such as feeling bored or useless.

I feel neither so far. I definitely do not miss working, and we have kept ourselves busy. I enjoy spending time with John and, Toby, of course.

Miles walked: 10.4
Miles biked: 4.02
