Thursday

After walking Toby in the neighborhood, we checked the weather forecast. It called for thunderstorms mid morning, so we took the go cart to Stirling Park and walked the Pinellas Trail in order to stay close to home. We walked south to Cedar Creek next to Hammock Park.

Then we walked north to Curlew Rd/Causeway Blvd. The skies were threatening.

The view above is of Curlew Creek, looking east.

We made it home just in time.

We haven’t had any rain in a while. Today’s rain was a soaking rain. It started at 10:30 this morning and is expected to stop tonight at 8:00, although we got a brief respite after dinner to walk Toby.

He did his business, but was left with a hanging chad that freaked him out. I asked John to get another bag out and I would try to grab the dangling poop, suspended on a long, invisible hair. Well, we had used the last bag on the roll, so he retrieved the backup bag from the holder. When he did, the hard spindle from the previous roll fell out on the ground. We both looked at it and thought to ourselves “That will occupy him while we unroll a bag and get ready to grab the dangly.” Once we were positioned and ready, we looked for the spindle; it was GONE! Toby had eaten it. Some are made of hard plastic, some cardboard. We were sure that he wouldn’t eat it, but he did. When we got home, we inspected our inventory and determined that he ate a cardboard one, which is a little better than him eating a plastic one. After several futile attempts to grab the swinging dangly, Toby eventually lost it on his own. But he enjoyed the game of trying to keep us from grabbing anywhere near his butt.

We got a “buy one, get one 1/2 off” chicken Parmesan submarine at Bambino‘s for dinner. We are trying to broaden our eating rotation.

We watched several episodes of An Astrological Guide for Broken Hearts on Netflix while it rained. It’s turning out to be better than we thought. It reminds us of an Italian version of Emily in Paris.

  1. Would I Like broken hearts. I canceled my afternoon training session because my body was so tired and sore. A good move. Tomorrow will be better.
