Monday

Our morning Toby walk was picture perfect (until the poop—more on that later). It was 75 degrees.

After our walk, we went to Toby’s annual checkup at the vet. His doctor said we were treating his skin issues correctly. We are going to try Zyrtec next because dogs can become accustomed to antihistamines and they stop working. The diagnosis is still seasonal allergies.

I’m happy to officially be on the federal government payroll: my first social security check was direct deposited today for the exact amount promised, two days early. How’s that for government accuracy and efficiency?

After lunch, I rode south on the Pinellas Trail to Stevenson Creek.

Just after I took this picture, a huge manatee swam under the bridge. It was a beauty, not a single propeller scar on its body.

I stopped at the gym on the way home. I hung on the pull-up bar and did other stretching and light lifting. Next week I’ll try a pull-up if things continue to go well.

The high temperature today was in the low 80s.

This afternoon we took Toby to Stirling Park to walk, our second trip to this park today. This morning before our vet trip we were walking in the neighborhood as usual. Toby pooped, but we didn’t have the bag holder attached to the leash. John ran home and drove back in the golf cart with a poop bag. We continued on to Stirling Park in the golf cart, much to the joy of Toby.

We played fetch in the backyard, and now he’s sleeping it off.

Toby’s trainer has invited us to another round of training. This one is called “Brain Games.” Should be interesting.

Today’s bike route to Stevenson Creek with a stop at Weaver Park

Miles walked: 5
Miles biked: 10.86
