Wednesday

We saw the giant pumpkin this morning on our Toby walk.

We had an unusual day today. It was overcast and humid, unlike the beautiful weather we've been having lately. The temperatures were about the same: 70s in the morning and low 80s at the peak.

We both woke up this morning with similar dreams on the theme of being given instructions that were impossible to follow, which set the tone for the day.

John's dream: He was at dog training and the trainer was giving instructions with a radio on. John couldn't hear him, so he reached over and turned down the volume. The trainer reprimanded him and said not to ever touch his equipment again. So the trainer turned up the radio and gave the rest of the lesson in a whisper.

My dream: I was at a DTCC social event with my sister. We were instructed to participate in some sort of raffle or game. The HR director had to reprimand me for doing it incorrectly. We had to start all over, and I was embarrassed because I did not know how to do it. My sister thought the instructions were dumb, but she understood them. Nevertheless, I couldn't follow them.

We drove to Dollar General to walk the causeway this morning as we attempted to unravel the mystery of our subconscious.

After our walk, we went to Jo-Ann's. John wanted some Halloween decorations for our go cart. He found a 36inch skeleton with a skeleton fish tail instead of legs. He thought a mermaid skeleton would be perfect for a coastal themed Halloween. Alas, he thought it was too expensive, so he passed on it. But we did get a 1,000-piece puzzle to work on when my sister comes to visit at the end of the month. It's a famous painting that I added to my first online course back in 1997 when I constructed the course in html using Notepad. At the time, I didn't know it was a famous painting.

After Jo-Ann's, we went to The Missing Piece, a high end consignment store. We didn't see anything we liked, at least not for our house. We're hoping my sister who worked in the furniture industry and has a good eye for design will give us some ideas. We have a sunroom that we don't know how to furnish.

After lunch I rode my bike to the outdoor gym at Weaver Park to exercise. This is the milky white sky above the sit up incline bench.

Late afternoon, we decided that taking Toby to get ice cream at Salty Paws would cheer us up.

He got a cup of pumpkin ice cream. He cried all the way to the store in the golf cart and pulled all the way to the front door of the store. It's fun to see your dog enjoy something so much.

We did a little walking while we were downtown.

We came home an ordered a Jet's pizza and ate the whole thing.

Miles walked: 10.5
Miles biked: 5.45
