Friday

It finally stopped raining. Hurricane Nicole has moved on. We rode our bikes out to the causeway to walk this morning.

We spotted dolphins swimming from the tidal bridge.

It was good to see some blue in the sky today after yesterday's constant downpour.

There was quite a bit of debris in the water from the storm.

We found this sign from Caladesi Island washed up on the Dunedin Causeway, speaking of storm debris.

Morning sunlight penetrating through the clouds.

This pelican is relaxing in the sun.

It was a bit wet on our bike ride, but it soon cleared up.

Our neighbors have a wood stork on top of their car.

After lunch, I rode my bike to the outdoor gym at Weaver Park. I didn't feel like exercising, but once I got there I got inspired. I stayed a little over an hour. My body felt relaxed afterwards. I rode around in the surrounding neighborhoods before returning home.

Toby has been a challenge the last couple of days. He ate a paper towel and it got stuck coming out during his evening poop. He wouldn't let us grab the towel, but he kept coming to us for help. John finally got the dangly part, after we amused the neighbors with Toby's dilemma. The rest is going to have to wait for tomorrow morning's poop.

Here's the puzzle piece we pulled out of Toby's mouth yesterday. At least we know it's a green piece.

His bumps look good today, but after rolling around in the grass, we didn't take any chances. He went straight to the shower for a medicated shampoo and to clean his hiney.

In his excitement afterwards, he knocked over our buddha statue, wrecking our peace and tranquility, breaking it into several pieces. He didn't get any Benadryl today, so maybe that's why he's so full of energy. We finally brought out his Petsmart games and engaged him with color identification, object identification, and reading his cue cards. That seemed to tire him out enough for use to do what we needed and wanted to do. Being cooped up yesterday was difficult for all of us.

Oh, and my bike fell over and my mirror broke again. That had nothing to do with Toby. It's just the random chaos of the universe. I told John that my thyroid medicine must be working because I didn't get upset. I just kept on moving. Nothing to do when it's already broken. So either my thyroid meds kept me calm or the arrival of my second social security check did.

Today's bike routes to the causeway and Weaver Park

Miles walked: 11.3
Miles biked: 12.45

  1. Toby tops the day with funny funny funny happenings. Can’t wait to hear what comes out tomorrow. We had a weather rush around 8:00-9:00 am. Then again later morning. Very light compared to the warnings going off.
