Thursday

John did laundry and ran errands while Pam and rode our bikes out to Honeymoon Island for the morning. It was 74 degrees when we left around 9:00 and 82 degrees when we got back for lunch.

Waiting at the light on Curlew and Bayshore

Waiting for the light in my new, cool shades.

The water was cold at first, but very clear.

Pam and Perry

We parked our bikes at North Beach and walked north for a mile or so.

Great sandcastle

My King Kong pose

Beautiful colors

Great new shades

Pam at the shell tree
Ever the designer, she added one of her own.

We stopped to take a picture on the drawbridge.

The water was extremely calm, almost like a lake.

We stopped at Honeymoon Cafe on the way home to replenish some energy.

Our view from the porch

A gopher tortoise crawled by while we recouped.

Toby is learning to read as a part of his Brain Games class. He's getting it little by little.

He will eventually learn to read "sit," "down," and "spin."

Last walk of the day

John made us a big pot of spaghetti for dinner. I love that guy!

Pam made it on our last walk before we left for the airport. St. Petersburg/Clearwater airport is just 15 miles away, about 30 minutes with one turn. It's an easy airport to get in and out, and traffic was moderate.

Pam made great progress on the puzzle. It's very difficult and we didn't stay home long enough to complete it. John and I will continue to work on it.

Toby likes the love seat in the sunroom, especially when we're working on the puzzle.

Taking it easy
Toby got a 10 minute medicated shampoo. His back is covered in tiny little bumps. John gave him a full dose of Benadryl.

The asterisk is for the things Pam wanted to do; the check mark is for the things we did. We didn't quite finish the list, so she's going to have to come back. At least three of the items require the good part of a day (kayaking to Caladesi, bike ride to Tarpon Springs/Wall Springs/Sponge Docks/Anclote bike trail and John Chestnut Park).

Thank you, Jeff, for giving Pam such an excellent birthday present. We all had a really good time. The week went by in a flash!
Love you, Pam.
