My Mom and Dad got our local Publix to make us this awesome 30th anniversary cake. What a thoughtful surprise!!!
We each had a large slice for breakfast and were on a sugar high for quite a while.
In our cake stupor, we lounged around the house reading, watching TV, and working on the puzzle. We all needed a day of rest after yesterday's epic bike ride.
Pam is making lots of progress on a very difficult puzzle.
After our lunch, the four of us headed to Petsmart for Toby's Brain Game class. Toby continued to work on "Blue" and ringing the bell. We introduced him to reading the word "Sit" on a card. In the future, we'll introduce the written words "Down" and "Spin." And he'll learn the color yellow. He'll learn to touch "Laverne," the green lizard (see above). Eventually, he'll learn to go get her. The training in this class is different from the basic, intermediate, and advanced classes. In that class, the dog learned to follow commands. In this class, the dog is presented with a challenge that he has to figure out without commands. It's a slower progress, but it stimulates the dog's brain development. We rely upon his training and the bonding that we have achieved to work through the learning process. It's quite interesting.
Today, there were only two dogs, so we got lots of attention. The other dog is taking the class for the second time and is a former classmate of Toby's. Pam said she was nervous for Toby and us. We had some success today and could appreciate Toby's progress. We practiced our homework and it paid off.
For dinner, we did leftovers combined with eggs, grits, toast, and fruit. We were too brain dead to think and too tired to move.
The four of us went on our last walk of the day.
Toby came home to another shower; Pam worked on her puzzle; John watched TV; and I'm writing to you.
Miles walked: 6.5

Sounds like a deserved day of recoup from yesterday. The cake idea was Dad’s. He got so excited and wanted it to be a surprise. Glad ya’ll liked it.
