Wednesday

Today was a cooking day for John and a cleaning day for me. But I did manage to make it to the outdoor gym at Weaver Park after lunch.

It was 75 degrees, just about perfect for a bike ride and workout.

Toby found his favorite place in the sun.

I saw a peacock at the park.

And a great white heron on our neighborhood walk.

This morning, instead of walking the causeway, we cooked and cleaned. I vacuumed and mopped the garage (twice). It’s not perfect, but better than it was.

I also washed and vacuumed the car.

John got this shot of Christmas decorations at the community center as we drove by to pick up our Con Sabor takeout food.

Last walk of the day

Our short days keep us hopping. No time to rest.

It was still 73 degrees at sunset.

After dinner and a Toby walk, we got busy chopping and mixing.

We haven’t done this in a while. The directions and measurements are missing on Helen’s recipe. So we guessed and improvised.

It should be good, but it won’t taste like Mom’s. Our New York neighbors have never heard of dressing. John said to tell them it’s like cornbread on steroids.

  1. You are brave to try the cornbread. I have tried and can’t do it.

We have been cooking all day. Julie, mom and I. We just finished. Ready for tomorrow.
