We had a nice walk on the causeway this morning. The wind was blowing at 12 mph, but it was still comfortable in shorts and t-shirts. The bike ride was a bit chilly, in the mid 60s. In the picture above, you can see the hurricane pass created in the 1921 hurricane, cutting Hog Island into Caladesi and Honeymoon Islands. That storm was a category 3 and produced an 11 foot storm surge.
We stopped at Walgreens on the way home to do research for our picture project. We learned that we can do it in the store with our phone or from home and pick up the prints at the store. The home option makes sense. I’ve got the number of photos down to 42, but I’ll need to cut it further. If I do it from home, it’ll be easier.
I found some frames we like on Amazon. We’ll start with ordering five. If we like them we’ll order another set of five. I’m the meantime, we need to select a few pictures to experiment with the process.
There was a kite surfer out today enjoying the stiff breeze.
He was zipping along back and forth along the shore of the causeway.
The Pinellas Trail on the way home.
We took Toby in the go cart to Highlander Park and walked all the way around, including the ballparks and the Community Center. It got up to 78 degrees today, but it felt cooler with the strong winds.
Notice Toby’s new waste bag holder clipped to his harness. It appears to be working well. He doesn’t seem to notice it.
Last walk of the day
John made black bean soup and cornbread for dinner. He got to use his new handheld blender. I got to clean up the kitchen.
Look what arrived after sunset!
Our little fig tree my sister found at Amazon for our sunroom. It’s supposed to go on the table with the lamp, but we might need to wait on it to grow some.
It’s been in a box all wrapped up for a few days. We’ll see how it recovers.
I hope it’s hardy because we’re not so good when it comes to house plants.
Good luck, little plant.

ReplyDeleteOh how sweet. We appreciate your decorating ideas. We hope we can keep it alive. If only it would bark or whine . . .
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting blog. Love your sun room photos. Impressed with your framing project. Wish your kite person had some of our wind today. Very windy. Neat poop bag idea.
ReplyDeleteLoved our FaceTime with the family.
