We had one more cold morning walk at 43 degrees, but the high today was 71 degrees and it warmed up fast.
After lunch, we headed to Stirling Park again in our golf cart.
Toby got to play fetch again.
We met a lady yesterday handing out fliers asking people to oppose the new dog park and pickle ball courts recommended by the city for this park. The flier claimed that it would destroy the habitat. Possibly, but the park was a par 3 golf course for decades so I’m not sure that argument has merit. Besides, there’s a much larger championship golf course adjacent to this park—plenty of room for birds and other critters. Plus Hammock Park and Highlander Parks are a block away. Some people, like us, use Stirling Park as it is, but it rarely has people in it. And there are very few trees or bushes for wildlife. The City reminded residents that it bought 75+ acres of land destined for development and turned it into a preserve. I think the dog park and pickle ball courts will meet residents’ needs. I’m not sure that we will use either (we don’t use dog parks because we don’t want Toby to get hurt from an aggressive dog), but I think they are both a good idea, and we may be able to use it when it’s not busy.
I found time to wash the car late this afternoon. It really needed it.
We were able to make it to the causeway this morning to walk. We drove, though, because it was only 60 degrees when we started.
John gave Toby a shower. It’s been several weeks since Toby’s needed a bath for his bumps. Today, he just needed cleaning up.

I have been very unproductive today. Watching the Australian Open. Did play tennis indoors in High Point and am gathering things together for Snob and Goodwill.
ReplyDeleteSounds productive to me. I did get into my 8:00am zoom work out. Joan and I went to Durham to case out some new restaurants for Sunday after church options. I have been wanting to go to Wegman’s. In fact we ate at their cafe. What a store! A nice way to spend a rainy day. Interesting info on the dog park. Glad Toby’s skin issues are better. Love to all.
