Wednesday

We were both feeling a little blah today, but we forced ourselves to drive to the causeway to walk. It was beautiful but very windy, about 15 mph.

The temperature this morning was in the upper 60s.

Beautiful skies.

After lunch, we took another walk around the neighborhood. It got up to 80 degrees today. The wind picked up, around 24 mph at times. A cold front is passing through tonight. We’re going to get two more days of winter, I’m afraid. Winter = high temperatures below 60 degrees.

With family expected soon, I set about to cull out junk in the back bedroom closet. It has become our indoor storage locker. You couldn’t even see the floor.

I was in the perfect mood for pitching things and putting things where they belonged.

I put back only what we wanted to keep, including our snow boots. Someday we may have a hurricane, right? These chairs and step ladder are for flat space if needed by guests. Otherwise, they can be folded and put aside.

I started in on the front bedroom closet. It was even worse. I took the picture above after I nearly emptied the top shelf.

I got about half of it cleaned up. The rest will have to wait until tomorrow. It’s looking like a great indoor project for the cold day expected.

What a mess! Sometimes it seems like I’m playing closet musical chairs. Take from one closet and add it to another.

In addition to throwing away some things, I was able to round up things for the neighborhood yard sale coming up in March. I think it’s progress if it’s out of the house and in the way in the garage. That will drive me to follow through on the yard sale.

Before dinner, we took Toby in the golf cart to Stirling Park where he got to walk and sniff, away from falling tree branches. The wind was fierce.

Otherwise, it was a lovely late afternoon.

We ordered a pesto, garlic, artichoke pizza while we were across the street at Stirling.

We didn’t have to wait long before we took it home to eat. The owner came out to chat while the pizza was cooking. She said hi to Toby. He wagged his tail and then barked. He practices being greeted all the time in training. I guess he felt trapped in the golf cart.

Great comfort food after a difficult day culling junk.

Miles walked: 10.7

  1. You have inspired me to work in the attic tomorrow. Another cold day. At least the rain should be gone. Winter is harsh.

  2. Your account of closet reorganizing made me lol. You write so well. My project tomorrow is my closet. I have a plan. Hope I can follow through. Pam was it you who suggested turning your hanger backward after wearing? Stay tuned. These hard/cold rainy days are getting old.

  3. Perry, you look so “buffed” walking on the causeway. Your exercise is paying off.
