Friday

We got new asphalt on our street today.

Our front yard made a perfect resting spot for the workers.

The last step is to spread some white substance on top. I saw the steam roller operator throwing it out like flour. Maybe it keeps the asphalt from sticking to the drum?

This corner has always had a big hole, and when it rained it made for a big puddle. It was also dangerous for bikes and scooters. All fixed now.

Two Caladesi ferries passing each other going to and from the island. We enjoyed our usual causeway walk this morning in 70 degree weather.

After lunch, I rode my bike south on the Pinellas Trail, all the way to Alt. 19 in Clearwater.

I stopped at Stevenson Creek to enjoy the view and take a couple of pictures.

On the way back, I stopped at Weaver Park to exercise. It was 80 degrees.

I noticed this morning and this afternoon that the county is painting over the old lane markings on the trail. They are getting ready to put up news signs instead: walkers and runners on the outside; bikes, skaters, and scooters in the middle. There will be no lines on the pavement.

Everyone’s a critic.

Today’s bike routes to the causeway, Weaver Park, Alt. 19 in Clearwater

Miles walked: 8.5
Miles biked: 16.64

  1. Yea for your paving job. I’m very impressed with Dunedin upgrades in the city. Toby made me laugh peeing on the pretty art sign. He is a hoot!!! Ya’ll would laugh at us and our shopping trip yesterday for air requirements for grooming items.

  2. I wish I had thought about. I have enough travel size shampoos, face cleansers, deodorants etc from Gail’s to supply a hotel. Will never have to purchase another hair care product, makeup, lipstick, pens, sharpies, note pads for the rest of my life.
