Friday

We walked to the grocery store this morning for our morning exercise, after we walked Toby. It was 4 miles round trip. Of course, we had to tote groceries coming back. By “we,” I mean John.

After lunch, I rode my bike down to the outdoor gym at Weaver Park to exercise. I took my yoga mat and stretched then did pull-ups and dips. Parks and Recreation is working on repairing the ball bearings in this elliptical trainer.

My view from the mat. It was a beautiful day, 80 degrees with a modest breeze.

Stretching.

I rode back to Publix to pick up some things for dinner. We’re going to have chicken and mushroom risotto with a salad. We bought the salad, but we’re doing the rest from scratch. It was delicious. Bonus: no leftovers, except for two chicken tenders for our salad tomorrow.

We got an Amazon package this afternoon.

New bicycle/weightlifting gloves and SPF. My old gloves are from 2009 and falling apart.

I like using Ulta 30 SPF, but they no longer sell it in the jar, only the tube, and it’s really expensive. I use it twice a day. So I did research on SPF trying to get something that feels comfortable and doesn’t make my face white and that’s more affordable. This one got terrific reviews. I will try it tomorrow.

I have this vague memory of Jeff handing me a tube of “Jacket” on his sailboat once, about 25-30 years ago. I remember it because it was such an odd name. He kept saying, “Put your Jacket on.” Of course, this could be a false memory. Pam, ask him if he ever wore an SPF called “Jacket.”

On our late afternoon walk, a car stopped to ask us what kind of dog Toby was. She said he was beautiful! We told her he was a mutt. She laughed and said he got all the good genes. “Is he a good dog,” she asked? We told her he was a very good dog.

We just got our homework assignment from our trainer:
Wave
Treat on the paw
Bow
Crawl
Practice weave with movement
Around

We had to put Toby on his mat to get him to crawl in training class. He was so funny crawling as he scooted the mat with him. He can do all of the tricks on the list, but only with a treat. He will eventually need to do all of them on command with just the word, no treat.

Tomorrow is the neighborhood yard sale. I don’t think we have much that qualifies as yard sale stuff. We have lots of silver, dishes, and do dads that we don’t know what to do with. I’d like to get all those boxes out of the garage.

Toby, cuddled up with me as I finished up this blog.

Miles walked: 9.7
Miles biked: 7.11
