Monday

A beautiful morning on the causeway marred by Red Tide. The southerly winds the last few days have blown the Red Tide parked off Ft. Myers in our direction. We need a cold front to move south and push this poisonous junk out of the gulf and through the Florida Keys.

Hundreds of dead fish in the water and along the beach.

County and city workers are cleaning up as fast as possible.

After lunch, we took Toby to the somewhat shaded Highlander Park via the golf cart. It’s more shaded in the summer.

We practiced our homework for class: “round” and “weave.”

Then I took my yoga mat to the outdoor gym at Weaver Park and did a lot of stretching. I’m determined to strengthen my core for a stronger back. Then I did pull-ups and dips.

It was another lovely day. The high today was 81. Our walk this morning was 75 degrees.

I met two more guys at the gym. They are also in their 60s, one of them lives in our neighborhood. It’s taken me almost three years to feel comfortable introducing myself. He wants to be able to do a pull-up. I told him I started with a single pull-up two years ago. Now, I can do 70+ in a workout.

We had two smoothies today, fresh strawberries and sumo oranges, sliced chicken sandwiches for lunch and walnut, blueberry oatmeal for dinner.

Miles walked: 10.8
Miles biked: 10.39

  1. Sorry about red tide. Lori said to tell you hello. She was glad to get your update. Met her as I was coming out of Louise/feeding Zazzie. I had lunch with Joan today. Over the weekend I put out a few Easter decor things. We are enjoying our smoothies. Dad had self appointed himself as the “mixer”. DELIGHTED!!!!
