We had a full day planned, so we drove to the causeway to walk this morning. It was in the mid 70s and there was no sign of red tide.
It was sunny one minute and cloudy the next. The wind was blowing about 12-15 mph.
The critical repair on the tidal bridge has been completed. They just have a few more sections above the embankment to complete. We saw evidence that a car had crashed into the railings. That would make the second car to somehow mistake the causeway trail for a roadway. The county has placed two more poles in concrete to prevent a third driver from making the same mistake. It makes it tricky for bikers who may not be expecting them.
It was nice to walk on the causeway again.
Low clouds; clear above
After grocery shopping and lunch, we loaded up the golf cart with two boxes, one of books, one of DVDs, and headed to the library to make a donation. We stopped to walk Toby around downtown, always good experience for him.
There was a Toronto Blue Jays game going on next door to the library. We drove around to the back entrance to make our donation.
I’m proud of us for making this donation and starting to get rid of boxes in the garage. It’s going to get more difficult from here on.
Here’s Toby watching John walk into the library. Our trainer says Toby has a little separation anxiety when we practice leaving him with a stranger (something we practice in training). She recommends more practice, but since we don’t go anywhere or work . . . . There is a woman in the neighborhood who wants to pet sit with Toby. She mentions it often when we see her. Maybe we could practice brief separations with her.
The ballpark was rocking.
It looked and sounded like a full house.
There were hundreds of bicycles clustered around these trees. Parking at the VFW was $20. Dunedin is the smallest city to host major league spring training.
We made it back home in time for me to ride my bike to the outdoor gym at Weaver Park to exercise.
My view from the yoga mat. The temperature got up to 89 degrees. It was supposed to rain today, but we only saw a few sprinkles on our way downtown.
We had a salad and black bean soup for dinner.
Miles walked: 11.7

Jeff came home tonight from moving his boat to the River Rat. He caught me up on everyone at the Pamlico. I went to Cap 10, unpacked from the weekend, went to book club and then a practice tennis game in preparation for a Thursday night match. Fixed bar be cue chicken red potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Jeff is ready for bed and I will read for a bit.
ReplyDeleteGlad the causeway is open. Yea! I had fun bowling today. Dad thought it too soon following his neck procedure to bowl and glad he was an observer. We had about 30 seniors bowling. Quite a hoot. Lots of fun. I won the first set. We had 5 people to each lane. BTW I’m looking at tennis shoes. Pam sent me the site for the shoes she likes. I noticed your tennis shoes in tonight’s blog. What is the brand you are wearing?
