We stuck around home today, letting the snowbirds, ball players, tourists, and working folks have their fun. We ventured out of the neighborhood at sunset in the golf cart for a Toby walk in Stirling Park.
We practiced Toby’s homework a couple of times today.
The morning started off cool at 61 degrees but the temperature eventually got up to 80 degrees. I can’t believe it snowed in North Carolina today!
Toby dragged aboard a palm tree husk and was busy destroying it. Our trainer recommended buying a cabbage head and letting him destroy that. It’s their instinct to shred things. I’m just glad he moved beyond shredding toilet paper.
John got the golden hour before sunset for these pictures coming home. The light was just right.
Our flowers are beginning to bloom.
We both woke up refreshed this morning at 5:00 which was surprising because of the time change. It used to take me a week to adjust when I was working.
We bought this garden fairy at an art gallery on Perry Street, off of 9th Street in Durham 23 years ago. I remember it was an extravagant purchase because we were so poor then. We wanted to support the artist and the gay-owned gallery, and we thought it would look nice in our yard. I still think it has a fun vibe. It has traveled from Dollar, to Blue Bottle, to Byron Nelson, to Watrous.
Time for bed.
John’s opening word last night in Wordle WAS the word. This is the first time either one of us has been that lucky. (We play the game together before going to bed, alternating who chooses the first word.)The game suggested that we buy lottery tickets today because of our luck.
Miles walked: 7.2
Miles biked: 0

Buy a lottery ticket. John rocks.
ReplyDeleteI watched Concrete Cowboy suggested by Stephanie. At first I didn’t like it but it got better and I recommend it.
Very cold in Mebane when I got home around 2:00pm. All grey skies. Knollwood retreat was a delight. Great devotional speaker. Break outs stimulating. Delicious food. Good to see Pam in her Knollwood setting. She is VERY POPULAR and recognized for contributions in the ministry of Knollwood. Dad did very well while I was gone. Proud of him. Going to lunch tomorrow with GS seniors and bowling in Mebane. Dad will be a bowling observer. Too soon to risk undoing neck procedure. Glad ya’ll are enjoying beautiful weather. I noticed the condo ya’ll checked out had increased its selling price. Interesting. Love to all.
ReplyDeleteThat condo is now pending. It was a “for sale by owner.”
