Ibises at the lake (John’s version)
It was partly cloudy and 75 degrees on our causeway walk this morning. There was a 9 mph breeze out of the northwest, an uncommon direction.
We had a vigorous walk with Toby this morning and carried that pace over to the causeway. I had to take a shower when I got home!
The water was clear and beautiful today.
The high temperature today is supposed to be 79 degrees, can’t ask for better weather. The sky on the causeway was vast and multi colored.
We took the golf cart to Lake Saundra after lunch. (Today is national PB&J day; that’s what we had for lunch, coincidentally.) Then we drove over to Highlander Park to check on the status of the Highland Games. They appear to be over, just tents and things to take down. The people are definitely gone. We noticed that we’ve put over 1,500 miles on the golf cart in a year. I’m so glad we got one, definitely our preferred mode of transportation with Toby.
Ibises in the tree at the lake. This picture really emphasizes how good John’s eye is with a camera. We were both going for the same shot. His photo is the opening photo at the top of the blog.

Toby napping after his walk. We are making progress with him. He’s had excellent walks today (no leash lunging or free wheeling), he hasn’t barked inside the house at passersby (except for the Amazon delivery and that’s OK), he stayed out of the kitchen while we cooked, and he stayed in his bed while we ate, all with just a few corrections. We have to work at all this because our default style is live and let live, which is good for people, not so much with dogs. They need more structure and boundaries.
Sautéed chicken, walnuts, and salad
John cut up a chicken breast and sautéed the chunks in a skillet. I rounded up the other things. The dressing came from a cooler in the produce section. John says he feels rich when we get our dressing there. (It was BOGO.)
Miles walked: 10
Miles biked: 5.11

I’m with John on the BOGO. Makes me happy. We had a great day at GS today. Joan went by herself last Sunday when we were away. IMPRESSED! She is hanging in there with this church going. Last Sunday, she even signed us up for 2 events coming up. (She knew we wanted to attend). Dad and I are getting real attached to this ministry. It is certainly meeting our spiritual needs. The sanctuary has been under renovation but due to be completed by the end of this month. We have been worshipping in their gym. Unlike any gym I ever saw. Very nice. My zoom instructor wants to see a photo of Toby/commands/etc re between the legs scenario. She is very small has a medium size dog and needs to master this b/c she often passes untrained doggies.
ReplyDeleteHad a fast trip to Pa., Annapolis, Boston and had a dinner with an Amish family their home: delicious! In fact we ate so good on this trip l was sick when we got home. I vomited all night Wednesday slept all day Thursday. Feeling fine now. Simply a matter of gluttony! This week is doctor week; every day except Friday.
ReplyDeleteWe had a great time with the bus group.
It looks like you are making progress with Toby. Just when you think you aren’t making progress he gets it. Hang in there. Hope your household has a great week.
