We walked Toby early in the neighborhood, then drove out to the causeway to walk about 8:00 before it got too hot.
The wind was blowing about 15 mph, making white caps in the sound.
It was about 85 degrees and very humid. However, there was lots of cloud cover, so it wasn't too hot.
It rained for about 10 minutes in the early afternoon. These frequent showers are great for keeping pollen out of the air. Toby took a long walk this morning and has zero bumps.
We stopped by Publix on the way home. Hoarding cereal? Not us.
I like the way these tiles are stacked, and the shape. Alas, they're white.
Today, I set out to find more colorful tiles that John might like better than the ones I found yesterday. He didn't like any of the tiles from yesterday. Boo! He liked most of these tiles.
Tybee Island linear glass mosaic in a white kitchen (top picture) and close up (bottom picture, above). I'm afraid it looks dated.
basic color tile
dated looking?
He didn't like the patterns on this one.
Blue waves
3 blue wave blocks stacked on top of each other. We could choose from several different shades. I could live with a tile like this.
Penny size glass tiles. I don't like the dots.
Sea glass mosaic, pictured in a kitchen with white cabinets and white counter tops and then close up. John likes this one the most. We've seen this tile at several places. I like it. I wonder if we will get tired of it. I also wonder if it looks too trendy. I think Angela will be able to help us on this one.
Honeydew glass tile in a white kitchen and close up. We could choose many shades of blues and greens like this. I could live with this.
Linear mosaic in a white kitchen and close up. I think this trend has come and gone.
Maya Bay Tide glass mosaic in a white kitchen and close up. Interesting.
This one was my favorite today. It looks better on a larger wall though. It doesn't have enough color for John. I'm not sure why I keep shying away from color. John says it's because it's safer. I think the muted colors are pretty and soothing.
Here it is on a larger wall.
Angela has her work cut out for her.
What do you think about this funky ceiling fan for the dinette? It's trying really hard to not look like a ceiling fan. Trying too hard?
Hydrangeas in our front yard

We went to Blacksburg to visit Steph today. She needed support and when we left, she was feeling a lot better.
ReplyDeleteof all the tiles you sent tonight, I agree with John on the Tybee. It would be interested in your designer’s ideas. I did not like the light/fan fixture. Too futuristic! Keep looking. You are doing the hard work which will make it easier in the end.
I need to relook at Ellen’s remolded kitchen. Love the light/fan idea, however agree with Pam re the sample in today’s blog.
ReplyDeleteSo glad Stephanie is better. You and Jeff spread joy whereever you go.
Robin/Alan invited us over for s’mores on the patio tonight. They have their 5 year old grandson overnight.
