Monday

If you believed news reports, you'd think that Florida was surrounded by giant blobs of seaweed. Here's a blob lurking under the drawbridge, but we see these every year. I haven't seen anything unusual.

The water is very clear. This seaweed is growing on the bottom, providing great hiding places for small fish to thrive in.

Like trees for squirrels.

It was 88 degrees before 10:00. The heat index was already 102 degrees. We got to the causeway to walk a little before 8:00 and finished by 9:00.

There was a little breeze on the way back as we walked into the sun in a cloudless sky.

I patched the 71 holes in the wall and painted.

Next up: cleaning the floors.

We had a birthday dinner at Azteca Heurache, taco Tuesday!

It was 94 degrees today. We managed to stay inside after 10:00 this morning. We took Toby for a couple of golf cart rides to nearby parks: Highlander and Stirling for walks.

John got this great shot of a spoonbill roseate at Stirling Park. It was 90 degrees at 7:30 p.m.

We walked Toby before sunrise.
