Thursday

I sanded, primed, and painted the spot where the former closet knob was on this door. We're ready for new hardware. I did a little touch up painting here and there.

We enjoyed a sunny day, but a cold one. The high was only 61 degrees. As we have acclimated to Florida, our comfort zone has migrated higher. We don't begin to feel comfortable until it's 75 degrees, 80 is ideal though.

We're meeting with our designer and countertop template folks Friday afternoon. John asked our designer to bring our countertop sample when she comes. We'd like to see it in our kitchen with the cabinets and backsplash. After our paint experience, we'll be anxious until we see it all together in our house. Above, we put everything together at the appliance store weeks ago: Samsung white glass fridge, Snowbound door (ours is slab, not shaker style), Smithfield quartz, and Komorebi Athens Blue mosaic tile. It looked good under the lights in the designer showroom, too. We have to trust the designer when she says it will work.

Here's a close up of the countertop we've chosen. It has subtle gold and gray veining. Ignore the crumbs at the top.

  1. Before I read your last commentary I kept trying to brush the crumbs away😀 This afternoon appointment with your designer will be exciting.

  2. Love all of your choices. We have a neighbor that has that same sign and I love it.

  3. It’s amazing how every thing is coming together. Does the glass door on the fridge light up to allow to see what is inside?
