Wednesday

We found this piece of artwork when we were putting things back into place. We think we bought it in Key West. It might look really good here, above the coffee station.

Here's a close up. I think this is right-side up, not the previous picture.

I think we bought it the same time we bought the print above. We both remember the artist. We've put framing and hanging them on our list of priorities, not at the top, but near.

We moved artwork and furniture back into their proper spaces.

The plumber arrived before 8:00 a.m. to repair the leak in the laundry room. The Ottoson crew came soon after to remove our old refrigerator and install the trim under the bar overhangs. It's primed and ready for me to paint. The workers also removed the masonite that had been protecting the floors for the past two months.

Everything is so pretty and clean.

The boss and the designer are coming next Monday for a final walkthrough of the project. There are a few minor details we want their thoughts on.

One item is to wrangle these dishwasher supply and waste lines so that we can use this under counter dead space. I think they can be tucked and suspended along the wall.

We made a run to Home Goods for a few drawer organizers, soap dispenser, and sink caddy.

The soap dispenser is called a penguin because of its shape. The entire canister pushes down. John found it. I never would have even considered it, but it's actually very cool looking with our faucet.

We meet with the Ottoson designer on Friday to look at her design for our primary bathroom renovation.

It's hard to remember the awful pink kitchen that was once in this space.

More of John's vegetable soup for dinner. It was 80 degrees this afternoon with mostly sunny skies. Everyone was out and complaining about the lousy weather this winter. The weather today is why people love Florida.

We spent the afternoon moving things back into place. We'll replace the sofa, loveseat, and ottoman in time. We have worn them out. For now, they will have to work.

I think the short overhang works and still gives us plenty of walking room behind the sofa.

Watching TV while cooking is now possible.

We learned late this afternoon that the tile guy is coming tomorrow morning to install the backsplash.

We decided to try the dining room without the white rug. Toby, of course, loves rugs because they give him traction on these slippery floors as well as a place to lay down. But the white rug was looking a bit shabby for the same reasons.

I really didn't want to put this table back in this space. But for now, it's okay. The new kitchen has raised the bar. Now everything else is questionable.

I like this chair, but I don't like it here. It's too big. Toby is far easier to please. He's happy to have the entire house back though. We all are. We've been cooped up in the sunroom and bedroom for two months. We all managed the disruption reasonably well. That being said, this is my last kitchen remodel. It's turnkey or nothing from here on. We're thinking the bathroom remodel will be much easier.

This space is somewhat back to normal. We're still using the red bench in the entryway for putting on our shoes.

It looks like someone has a new Apple laptop to unwrap on February 23rd.
