Wednesday

This was our best bulgur recipe yet. We gave it five stars!

See ingredients written in hand on the right, near the top. The green peppers added a nice flavor. We topped our plates off with avocado slices. It's a simple, one-pot recipe with onion, oregano, garlic, black beans, green peppers, broccoli, tomatoes, and bulgur. It's as hearty and as filling as a meat dish.

We used a large can of Cento crushed tomatoes. They are more expensive, but worth it.

I rode my bike down to Weaver Park to exercise. I met the father of a Toronto Blue Jays development player. His son is in high school and in the Jays' player development league. The whole family came down to watch him play and train. I told him about the new construction on the causeway for the development players. He said that building is for those higher up in development. His son is staying at a Hampton Inn in Oldsmar, about 20 minutes east of Dunedin at the top of Tampa Bay. His son complains that it's rather isolated. Anyway, the father asked for directions to see the new construction so that he could ride his bike out and tell his son about it.

Another guy at the gym pointed out to the Canadian visitor the Sunset Music Series across the street, offered every Friday night throughout the summer. This Friday is Jimmy Buffet night. We've been a couple of times. It's easier if you attend via bike because parking is scarce.

This bloom on a banana tree looks like a bird of paradise bloom, except instead of orange and blue the flower is mostly blue and white. And the bloom is three times the size of a bird of paradise bloom. We saw this one at the community center on our after lunch walk with Toby.
