Friday

Last walk of the day on Thursday. We dodged thunderstorms all afternoon. But the grass looks great!

The golden hour before sunset.

Friday morning was iffy, weather-wise. So I stuck close to home. At first, I rode my bike to Weaver Park for stretching and strength training. The thunderstorm chances kept diminishing, so I rode to Alt. 19 and back, stopping at the Stevenson Creek bridge to read this new sign about reporting Manatees in the creek.

I've spotted many manatees here, not that many lately.

It turned out to be a beautiful morning with no showers.

The new bathroom countertop got installed after lunch.

It looks great.

The plumber is scheduled for Monday. He will install the toilet, the bidet seat, shower valves, spigot, shower head, tub drain, and sink faucet and drain.

Our designer came by yesterday to meet with the glass/mirror installer to help us think through the options. She said we need to get some new door hardware for the outside bathroom door. It's looking a bit shabby in the new bathroom. Of course, that brings up replacing the other external door hardware: laundry room and sunroom. (The front door is another project all by itself.) I ordered the hardware for those three doors this afternoon. While I was at it, I ordered a door stop and new polished chrome hinges for the bathroom and laundry room doors.

The outlet installation looks perfect in the quartz backsplash. The designer is still attempting to pin the electricians down to a date to finish up their work.

The fabricators set up in the front yard to do their final drilling and sink assembly.

I found this small table and chairs online. I was not looking for anything like this.  This is counter height, 35 inches in diameter, big enough for two. The top is sintered stone (quartz and other minerals), and the bottom is coated steel. The chair legs are wooden painted black with gold stubs. The seat material is faux leather. I asked the internet if it was okay to mix metals and finishes in a kitchen. The answer is yes, as long as there are not more than three different materials, preferably in the same sheen. I'll have to think about it. I've had a hard time finding something I really like. It needs to be small without looking like a dorm room set up. This is a long-term project. For now, the eat-in kitchen area will be empty except for our two counter stools.

Of course, the rain came long after the predictions of rain this morning. When it finally came, the chance of showers was only about 15%. Out of nowhere, we had a deluge. We had just gotten back from the community center with Toby. It's Florida in June. It's going to rain hard for 15 minutes at some point almost every day.

Last walk of the day at Stirling Park where it was warm and mostly sunny.
