9 wall samples . . . and counting.
All things considered
This morning's choices: Fanfare on top; Blue Veil on bottom
Fanfare left; Blue Veil right
Our trim choice with Blue Veil for walls
Our trim choice with Fanfare for walls
In theory, one of them should have worked. Fanfare on top, Blue Veil on bottom.
Blue Veil on top, some previous reject on the bottom
Blue Veil on the left of the post at left; Fanfare on the right of the post on the left.
Verdict: too gray, not enough blue
Paint colors on our house do not look like the chip or the images on the computer. We think it's because of the stucco texture. Moreover, paint on the house changes in appearance depending on location, time of day, amount of sun.
In the afternoon, we found this color: Sweet Bluette. More blue.
Here's how it looks with our trim choice.
So, we went back to Ace for our 9th sample of paint in a 1/2 pint container.
Today's choice
Roof: Dove Gray; Trim: Chantilly Lace; Walls: Sweet Bluette
Here's how it looks in real life . . . in the late afternoon on an overcast day:
Sweet Bluette
Sweet Bluette on the top half; Blue Veil on the bottom half (Chantilly Lace on the trim)
Swiss Chalet on top; Sweet Bluette in the middle; Antartica on the bottom
Sweet Bluette
Antartica on top; Sweet Bluette on bottom
Antartica on top; Sweet Bluette in the middle; Swiss Chalet on the bottom
Blue Veil on top; reject in the middle; Sweet Bluette on the bottom
Right of garage: Swiss Chalet; Sweet Bluette; Antartica
We'll see how things look on a bright, sunny day. We don't have a clear favorite yet.
Because we now have a pressure washer, we can clean just the front of the house, paint the trim, and then choose a wall color and paint one gallon at a time. If we don't like it, we can start over with another color. Once we find our color or give up and go back to white, we can then proceed in washing and painting the rest of the house.
Pressure washer arrived
Rounded up cleaning and painting supplies
