We walked from home to Honeymoon Island and back this morning. It was 77 degrees when we left about 8:30. The winds were blowing a little over 10 miles per hour. Someone had spelled out COVID-19 in seaweed under the causeway bridge.
I did a trial run of my sprinkler repair work while I was waiting for John. Everything worked. So, currently, I have no sprinkler projects. We'll see how long that lasts.
We planned a picnic for lunch while we were walking.
We decided to bring our lunch to Honeymoon Island State Park, so after we got back from our morning walk, we caught up with email, made our lunch, and hopped on our bikes. We sat in this swing looking out over the gulf.
This was our view during lunch. Soothing and relaxing. Mostly sunny, 82 degrees with a 10 mph breeze.
Digging in!
This catamaran kept going back and forth.
All in all, not a bad place to pass a pandemic.
I worked on the TV console project. Three cans of spray paint from Home Depot is all it took. That and some molly bolts for hanging the console on drywall. Since our neighbor gave us the console for free, I think a few dollars for paint and hardware made it a bargain. It's drying and we're working out the hanging measurements. Pictures tomorrow, if things go well.
Good news on the teaching front. My boss is going to keep the second British literature course even though it does not yet have the minimum numbers to run. She's going to add a few seats to make it up in my composition class. That's a win win. Students don't get booted from a class they've registered for. More students get a seat in a composition class that had closed, and I get to keep my courses intact that I've been working on.
Today's tally: 14 miles walking, 13.7 biking
