Wednesday

At Stirling Park, Dee Dee is enjoying her evening walk by the "snake pit," as John refers to it. She looks good in the picture, but what a struggle today to get her to eat and take her medicine!

There sure are a lot of rainbows in Florida. Weird, because we haven't had any rain in a long time, and this is supposed to be the rainy season.

Last night's sunset pictures.

Today was a working day. I worked on a couple of small projects. I'm tying up loose ends with HR. I will complete the exit interview online by filling out a questionnaire. And I was told to mail my key and key card to HR and they would take care of getting it to Security.

I started the process of changing car insurance from NC to FLA. After that, we can work on getting driver's licences, tag, and car registration at the DMV. I got us both appointments for Sept. 18, the first available (glad I didn't wait any longer). And I also think we can register to vote there. If not, we can do it online with our new driver's license.

After getting all of those documents, we can file online for the homestead exemption (saves about $800 per year on real estate taxes) and enroll in the Save Our Homes program at the same time. The SOH limits tax increases to 3% or less per year.

Miles walked: 9.0

  1. Can we vote in NC online? Happy that Dee Dee is hanging in there. Taco has a large mass on his stomach and Steph has an appointment with the vet tomorrow. She is worried and sad. We are getting a Nice rain shower.
